Rock Star

Went to see Cody and his band play tonight - it was their first show in Waverly - and I must say I am proud of my son! He rocks! I will post pics when Hannah T sends them to me!

Thought we had a flu beat and here we go with round two - Cael and Emma are sick and I got it again. So far, the girls are doing okay. I keep telling Cody to sleep as much as he can - lol -

More later...

There were SNOWFLAKES in the air this afternoon! It is cold and damp and chilly and we are enjoying another quiet evening at home. Except the girls aren't BEING quiet - they are running around the house and giggling, which is even better!

Gail is on her way here to hang out for awhile. Some much needed girl time.

The basement water is slowly receeding. Cody will finish vacuuming it up tomorrow. For now, he has headed to what he sadly informed me will be the last football game of his senior year. The next six months are going to have lots of lasts I am afraid. Everyday, I ask God to give me the strength to let Cody go. That's what we do as mothers, we watch them grow, love them, teach them all we can and then give them back to God and let Him do the rest.

Had Bible study today with Julie and Sue. We are going to read The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian.

I am still trying to figure out an effecient way to load pictures on this new computer. Might have to try it after my nap tomorrow. I plan on having a LAZY weekend.

Testing my patience...

Someone unplugged the pump that keeps the basement dry - I went down to get something and found water rushing the eight years I have been here I have dealt with water down there at least 20 times - but I will not let this time push me over the edge. God does not give me anything I cannot handle. So, I will patiently wait for the pump to do it's job and I will go down and clean up the mess one more time. I am thankful that it did not get to Cody's guitars and amp. I am thankful that it is clean water. I am thankful that God has heard my prayer. I feel better now. SIGH, now back to life.

Rainy Days

Rained all day today - steady rain...cold rain...the leaves look gorgeous and out of place lying on the ground - the one bright spot!

Jaima has been home from school the last couple of days - really tired and not quite herself. I am hoping she will be energized enough to go to school tomorrow.

For the first time in a long time - so long, I can't remember the last - the five of us were home alone tonight. I got to cuddle with all three of my kids - and we laughed and relaxed. We all snuggled up in the living room and watched Transformers 2 - awesome movie! - and had a great time. We are all in bed and it's 8:30. Nice. I forgot how much I really do love my family - we always have so many people here - we were living but not interacting and tonight was a nice refresher.

Jaiden got her daddy to change the channel and is making him watch DragonTales on PBS with her right now! He also read her her favorite book Won't You Be My Kissaroo - we have had to renew it twice from the library - her daddy does the voices and the kisses JUST RIGHT!

Harvest will just have to wait til God's time - when the rains stop and the sun comes back out and warms things up and dries things out - til then we wait and TRUST.

Happy Birthday, Jaiden Ilo!!!!!

We got up early and Daddy wanted her to open her presents!

A high chair for her babies and...

a new tractor!

We kind of had a lazy day - went shopping with Kiersten and then took Jaiden to Olive Garden for her birthday lunch! We had a great time...tomorrow is her family and friends party. Jaima and I still need to bake the cake.

I had to buy a new desktop computer because my laptop was not worth fixing - but I got a great deal and am excited to get it set up and learn all of the tricks. I still have to recover all of the data from the laptop - well, my computer guy does! - but he won't be able to get to it til next week. Hopefully, he can save my pictures and files.

We weren't able to get in the fields today, the ground is still too wet. So, we cleaned the garage and the mud room in the basement. Mama Carolyn has a new rule - all those wearing boots or chore clothes have to go downstairs first before they come in my house! I am sure there will be consequences for breaking the law, I just can't think of them yet!

School is going great! Right now, I am writing a paper on the book of Phillipians. I asked Mom and Dad for some Bible study tools for my birthday. I have read those 4 chapters at least 8 times in the last week - and I still don't have all of the answers - lol

Harvest has begun - a little bit here and there - hauling manure and hay bales and lots more to keep the guys busy. Today it is misting so Dan has been helping me burn trash and work on the garage.

So, I started this about an hour ago and just got back to it - Jaiden is not feeling well - still has ear infection and has been on antibiotics- we are trying to treat each symptom individually right now instead of giving her more antibiotics - I am under the weather still as well - just can't seem to shake it - maybe I should take the doctor's advice and rest!

JaidenIlo turns TWO in Saturday! Where has time gone? Seems like only yesterday we brought her home - she sure has been a blessing to us! Made us slooooow down and appreciate life more!

I still haven't gotten my laptop fixed so I can't post pics yet - but I will soon - I took some good ones of Emma and Jaiden yesterday in the leaves.

I need to take some pics of Chloe, too - she is growing! And chewing on everything - she and the cat I got from Gerben and Julie sleep, eat and play in the kennel together - it is so funny

All for now, I feel like a good nap!

Let the blogging begin!

Deep breath...ready? OKAY!

Grandma and Grandpa White were here for a three week visit. Since it rained, they decided to go home until harvest begins. I will miss my Kitchen Fairy, but am learning to cope LOL The grandkids sure enjoyed spending time and getting to know them.

I am encouraged to keep blogging because I know that my sense of humor and faith has been an encouragement to others - what started out as a way to share pictures and farmlife with the grandparents has turned into a way for me to share my faith -

Thank you, Lord, for my girlfriends - those once upon a time complete strangers who have now become so dear to me that I cannot think of life without them! Sue was here for coffee this morning, and no one outside of the two of us could possibly understand or follow our random thoughts and conversations! but it was much needed sista time - with coffee and chocolate chip cookies and laughter and comparing "notes" and joy in answered prayer.

For some reason, God has chosen to make me a happy, joyful and exuberant woman - and no matter the circumstances, I will not be shaken - I will find the joy, because it is always in me.

My prayer for you today, is that you will find that joy that has been inside you all along - as long as He is in you, it is yours for the taking, my friend.
