dance pictures

Jaiden had to have a dance outfit on - so she is wearing JaiLuLu's old costume...

Rain!

Planting corn has been halted - we would have been done tonight...the rain is washing away all of the dust though - i can feel the grit on my desk - it was windy and HOT yesterday - 87 degrees - perfect day!

Last night we went to the Talent Show at the High School. Cody and his friends performed - I will try to upload video today - am not sure if my other camera can link to my pc. We had a great time - John, me, Jai and JaiIlo, Kiki D, Jenni, Cael, Emma, Jaclyn and her mom, Kathy. We were in town when the hail hit here on the farm - Khyle told us about it. We got to see an awesome lightning display on the way home though.

Jaima has dance pictures this morning - KikiD spent the night and they will be getting up soon to do hair and makeup -

Spring cleaning...and other stuff

The Big Cheese...in the semi
Ian and Jaiden on Easter Sunday

Daddy and his pretty girls, Easter

Awwww, John was so tired, he had hauled manure until 10:30 the night before.

I love this picture! Jaiden and I in the semi, hauling corn with John last week, we'll do anything to be able to spend time with Daddy!
No new pics of Cody, hmmm, where is that kid anyways? He's out doing chores with Jaclyn - she loves chores - reminds me of myself when I first came to the farm.
I have the basement 90% cleaned - we hadn't touched a thing down there since we moved upstairs (I think 3 years ago!). So, we hauled out a lot of unwanted stuff and furniture. John burned most of it today. I vacummed, scrubbed and cleaned. We now have a guest room ready downstairs for John's parents, who will arrive this coming Tuesday. They will be here for planting. A lot of field work is already being started. We are chisel plowing right now. Rock picking is next - a job that I do not enjoy doing, and avoid at all costs! However, I do demand that a load of rocks be brough tup to the house so I can continue my landscaping project.
The guest room will be open all spring/summer to any who want to visit...hmmm, a certain Auntie in Des Moines for sure has promised me some Hostas. HINT HINT
I went to Ladies Night at church last night with Julie and Danielle. It was a great time. Meeting new friends and building up the "old" ones. Tonight is prom night. We will go to the Grand March at the high school. Cody is not going because Jaclyn is a freshman and her parents wanted her to wait to go. We'll go get food at Joe's after that.
Looks like rain is on the way. It sure is dusty, so I am hoping for a light sprinkle. Any more than that and the farmer's start getting antsy about being able to get in the field. Seems like we are always praying for rain to come or hold off! HA, I just looked out the window and it IS raining! Maybe I will go outside barefoot and dance...

What a great weekend - the sun is shining - there is no snow in sight - and we get to celebrate our faith!

Yesterday, I hauled bales all day with John and Cody. Back and forth - 8 bales at a time - over 100 in all! Cael, Emma, Jaima and Jaiden were with us most of the time - Jenni came and picked them up after 3- then we worked until 5:30. We were so tired and sore that John and Cody came home and did chores - I baked a few pizzas and then we went right to bed. We had wanted to go to church, but even the baby fell asleep early!

Today, we will dye Easter eggs! I also have to bake muffins for the Sonrise breakfast tomorrow at Trinity. The youth and I will have a service at 7:30am - then a breakfast. Then, I will come home and get John and the girls and we will go to church and come home to dinner. Gerben, Julie and Ian will be here. Julie and I met on Easter Sunday a few years ago - we always laugh because SHE was so European - haha

Jaiden is acting like she wants to go potty - she takes her diaper off when it's wet - and says, "tee tee" - she sits on the potty chair and thinks she is so BIG! This morning, I was looking at her hands and I cried because she doesn't have baby hands anymore - she is growing too fast.

Making his wish...
I love this picture!!!! That's a real Cody face - I look like my mother, sigh.

The cake...
Cody had friends over - they played guitar and wii all night - and I never heard a peep - gotta love those brick walls.
Snow is on the way - we have a winter storm warning for tonite -
I cut 6 inches off my hair yesterday - Cody and Jaiden are going in for haircuts this morning.
We will be hauling cornstalk bales all day, trying to beat the storm.
