Chloe's home!

Chloe Elizabeth is 6 weeks old - she is housebroken already! She has slept with Jaima at night - and loves to cuddle!

Back to School!

Cody's first day of Senior year - yeah, I cried when he walked out the door, like a baby- SO!

Jaima took this pic of John and me.

Jaima's first day of second grade!

Young Entrepreneur

They didn't load the way I wanted them to - but here's the scoop: Jaima decided she was going to set up shop at the corner of our driveway and sell some jewelry she had made. She also brought out cookies and lollipops. Neighbor Stan was the first to make a purchase. Then Dad showed up - with empty pockets - and Cody put in an appearance as well - all for the Drama Queen and her big ideas! She sat out there forever waiting for cars to go by - I didn't have the heart to tell her it wouldn't be like the kids in town!

More fair pics

Cael and the chicken (R.I.P.) he caught at the scrambles. His dogsd ate it a day or two after he got it home!

Jaiden and I after she caught her bunny!

We took a trip to Fontana Park in Buchanan County to celebrate back to school. It's located in Hazleton. There are also lots of Amish stores and farms to visit - but I would recommend not taking kids - lol! This picture is of JaidenIlo looking at the duck pond - she loved them - Cael knew all the duck breeds.
When I uploaded this I thought it was a different picture - Jaima had fun running around looking at all of the rescued animals- skunks, rabbits, bears, cougars, raccoons, owls, eagles and lots more!

Cael, Jaima and Jaiden at the museum at Fontana Park. They had lots of hands on displays, a real bee hive, a butterfly garden, monarch butterfly breeding and a beautiful walkway with a view of the river and a neat bridge.

Jaiden and her bunny that she caught at the rabbit scrambles at the fair - she ran around yelling, "KITTY!KITTY!" til we caught one!

Let's play catch up, shall we?

I hope I can remember all I wanted to share! It's finally back to school time and I instantly put us all back on routines: bedtime, after school, morning, chores, naptime etcetc and life is good! I love summer, but I love fall and the school year even more!

It has rained a lot and the weather is cool - only 61 degrees right now.

It figures, Jaiden just woke up, so I will have to blog later!

Meet Chloe...

(photo by Busch Photography, Shell Rock)

This is Chloe, and she will be joining our family on August 21st! She is a Shitzhu puppy and I can't wait to get her home. It has been a long time since I have had my own "baby" in the house. Patches ran away last November, and I am finally ready to give my heart away - lol.

So, Jaiden and Chloe will begin potty training at the same time - how easy will that be?

John is at the fair picking up the cattle this morning, then off to church. It is potluck Sunday, so I need to go cook something!

A very busy and tired girl - and a wonderful week at the fair!

Cody placed 4th overall at the Grand Champion selection Thursday night. This is the steer that won Bremer County Born and Raised - Cody has won this title at least 5 times and gotten Reserve Grand twice.

Jaclyn congratulating Cody!

The ribbon - he also received a trophy plaque and a director's chair with the Title on it - I think it's his 6th chair!

It takes a lot of strength to lead a 1309lb. steer around.
Jaiden, watching her brother show. I did not get any pics of Jaima because she was too busy running around with her friends all week!

My favorite photo that I took of Cody at the Fair.

One year of hard work + 5 minutes in the show ring = A Bremer County Born and Raised Champion Steer!

No, I did not forget that I have a blog - well, almost! What a GREAT summer!

We are on "vacation" this week - Fair week! Cody shows his calves tomorrow morning - and hopefully in the Parade of Champions tomorrow night! He works so hard for this one week- I am a proud mama.

Jaiden has kept me very busy - her curiosity keeps me on my toes - I never know what she will discover next. She loves to play outside, ride her bike, walk to see the cows and RUN RUN RUN!

Right now, she is sleeping on my lap - she had her immunizations today and is a tired and sore little girl.

Jaima got a new bike today - she got on it and took off - no training wheels needed! I think I was more excited than she was. We went out back and rode on the new concrete by the cattle buildings. I will have to buy a bike, too - because I took off on hers- and it was so much fun!

School starts in three weeks and I must say I am totally ready to get back into a routine - we have kept bed times thank goodness - but I really love school mornings - when the kids get on the bus and I get some ME time -
I might be taking off in a week or tow for a weekend alone - I am ready to wean JaidenIlo - and I think she is ready, too- she hardly nursed at all today - it's just at night that I can't get a break!
