Cody's first concert

Cody is going to his first concert tonight down in Des Moines - Velvet Revolver! Of course, it's a school night - he asked if he could go over a month ago and we said yes without any hesitation. Why? Because this kid works so hard here on the farm - and has also been such a blessing to me in the house - he helps with the girls and does all of the chores I can't seem to motivate myself to do - he's my garbage man and dishwasher! :)
Jaima is home sick with a fever and cough -poor girl - we are all still fighting off whatever this is - it has been almost a month since we first got sick - the weather is beautiful today - 50 degrees - so I might just open a few windows!
John is hauling corn - this morning I made him explain to me about selling corn, etc. Stuff I never bothered to ask him before. I am trying to get back into the farm wife mode - I went out with Cody and bottle fed a calf - it felt so good to be outside, working and breathing fresh air! I can't wait for Jaiden to get a little bigger and the weather to get a little nicer so we can go outside and work! If the house was closer to the barn I might go out more - we'll see!

Too Much Snow!

I don't like winter! It is snowing again today - and snow means snow days and snow days mean kids in the house saying,"I'm bored, there's nothing to do!" haha
Cody is home sick today and Jaima was home on Monday. We all have had coughs, sore throats, dizziness and stomachs upset. Not fun since it has been going on for over two weeks!
This is the view from my front door - the dogs love to play in the snow!

Three months old!

Jaiden loves to eat cereal! She kept watching us when we were eating and I decided to see if this is what she wanted! She's been eating it for about 4 days now - and she seems to be more content. Hard to believe she is already 3 months old!

Cody and Jaima had a snow day yesterday and got out early today because of windchills and blowing snow - we are staying put this weekend - lots of movies and a fire in the fireplace.

John, Jaiden and I went to the doctor on Thursday - sore throats still - I had a mono test - and have to go back next week if I don't get my energy back. It's a good excuse for me to slow down anyways. Our Pastor asked me a week or so ago how I was dealing with everything and wanted to know if I had slowed down at all since I am staying home - I had to admit that I was still trying to be SuperMom and am now trying to SLOW DOWN. I have plenty of time to cook and clean and study and play and just BE STILL~

Growing so fast!

Drama Queen Jaima all dressed up and ready to go to Nana and Papa's!
Jaiden, taken this week - she is really growing and changing everyday! She talks to everyone that has time to talk back! Smiles, laughs and loves to play with her hanging toys! Cody sure loves to spend time with her when he gets home from school, and she sure is a big hit with the kids in my youth group!
We had a little snow today - it sure was pretty! We are all feeling a little under the weather, fighting off sore throats and colds. The kids don't have school on Monday and I am grateful for an extra day to keep them home to recuperate.
Cody finished up his semester tests yesterday - he sure was exhausted this week. Praying him through was a major part of my week - trusting God to help him remember all he had learned and to feel he was doing his best!

Lazy Saturday...peace at last!

Jaima and Kiki D
Happy Birthday, Daddy!

It is so nice to unwind after the holidays - was glad to send the kids back to school this week! We had fog and a 2 hour delay their first day back - Cody went out and took this picture of our willow tree. God is an awesome artist!

Had a house full of teenagers again last night - my youth group kids love to come out here on Fridays and just hang out - also celebrated John's 39th birthday - too bad the brownies I made did not bake all the way - I called it hot fudge surprise! Cael and Emma, our niece and nephew, were here as well. We are going to my parent's tonight for bday dinner - John's favorite "chicken fried chicken" and fried pheasant. My Mom spoils all of us with a special dinner for our birthdays.

Jaiden is growing - already in 6 month clothes! Her legs are so long - and her hair still stands straight up! She is mostly sleeping all night much to my relief - I love sleep!

Jaima let Kiersten put French braids in her hair this morning - I can't believe she sat still that long!
Cael is here for the weekend - he and Cody and Jaima are outside playing in the snow - it's 35 degrees out - a regular heat wave!
