Dancing Diva

Tonight was rehearsal for the recital - Jaima, Kiki and I had a great time! I took pictures and video tonite so I can just sit back and relax tomorrow night and watch my little star shine!

Jenni brought over chocolate crock pot cake this aftenoon, she just showed up at my door with the cake and some coolwhip. I didn't need to ask why. I stole a bite before we even got to the kitchen - amazing! I will post the recipe - right now I am too lazy to get up from the chair!

I have been reading a lot of cool shabby chic blogs lately - getting great decorating ideas - I love finding vintage stuff and using it in my home- will have to start sharing pics of the gradual makeover I am planning.

Don and Austa are here - I think I mentioned that. I got the basement guest rooms complete so they are nice and cozy in their new digs. They went to visit their farm group this evening.

John called me today and asked me to go to lunch - I should have known better - after lunch (his brother and dad ended up going, too - hardly a date!) he took me to the John Deere store to see my new baler - YEE HA! It's a good thing I love green. Oh, and he bought me a hay wagon, too - can you believe it? (Yes, Khyle, there goes my new furniture AGAIN!)

After lunch, I had John drop me off for some much needed girl time at Julie's. We just sat there and talked and talked because we hadn't spent much time together lately - life sometimes gets so busy - and I hope it never goes that long again without a visit! After that, John and I came home and cleaned the garage - we filled a trailer with stuff to take to the landfill! It looks so nice. Tomorrow I will create a space for the guys to hang up chores clothes and coats - a spot for boots, etc so they don't come in my house anymore. The front hallway was starting to look like a barn!

Tomorrow again promises to be a full and busy day - preparing for my Bible study group...well, cleaning house first!...recital, Cael and Emma sleepover.

Leave me a comment or just say hello - let me know I am not talking to myself - haha

My girls

I left to go turn on the shower for Miss Jaima and I came back and she had fallen asleep on our bed! Daddy had to carry her to her room - no easy task! He carried her like a sack of feed!

Rain today - a little chilly - I want to get my big garden planted but haven't been able to - it needs plowed and tilled - so we will see. I have tomatoes, green beans, cukes and eggplant in my kitchen garden, right in front of the house - very convenient and the cows can't get to that one!

Jaima and I lined one of our flower beds with field rock tonight - I still have to go around 1/2 of the house - am waiting for the boys to bring me a load of rock. John brought some dirt to the north of the house so Jaima and I can plant a butterfly garden. We will line it with rock, place a big rock in the middle and plant lots of wildflowers! I will also paint a sign to welcome all to the farm. I also plan on finally hanging up our "slow down, farmkids at play" sign that I painted a long time ago - Daddy Don and I also talked about putting in a speed bump - we have a lot of visitors and deliveries each day and worry about the kids - some come flying in the driveway!

I just see I loaded the wrong video - but will leave this one and upload the next!

Papa,Emma and Jaima straightening up the trees!

It is a beautiful day! No bugs, a gentle breeze, temp just right, plenty of sun...Daddy Don brought up a gazebo for the kids - we set it up under the willow tree. Cael, Emma, Jaima, and JaidenIlo all "helped". I told Dad that this was his chance to get parenting right - we put that thing up without a temper lost or a swear word cussed!

Dad and I also rescued a baby robin that the dogs were trying to kill - then John lifted me up in the skidloader bucket and we put himback in the nest! That was fun!

Jesus, Bring the Rain...

One of my favorite songs - sweet cleansing rain...It is pouring out and I love it!
Jaima, JaidenIlo and Cael are playing Wii - dancing in front of the open living room windows - the sweet smell of spring blowing in. Grow flowers and grass and little garden by the kitchen...
Mom and Dad White FINALLY made it from Arkansas...they will be here for the next few weeks, moving back and forth between the two homesteads - getting their grandchildren "fix"!
I am dreading doing the dishes- maybe I should put them out in the rain Pioneer style? HAHA
Jaima and I will finish decorating her room today - and Cody has to clean up his room or face being grounded from his car and riding the bus to school the rest of the school year - that I would love to see!

A time to blog?

Seem so long since I have had time to sit down and actually write something interesting...I would rather be outside with Jaiden, watching her discover the world!
Or like now, I sit down to type and she comes to me wanting to nurse and take a nap!

What have we been up to? Three weeks to go of school - so the kids are excited. Me, too - I love summer.

I had a great Mother's Day - got some beautiful flowers and a plant - Cody bought me Milk Duds, Coca Cola and a DVD - Jaima made me a beautiful card. The kids and I went to church and then to the OP for lunch. We had good conversation and food. Daddy stayed home because a few cows kept getting out.

This morning, I went to Khyle's to help get some bull calves in that escaped. I got stuck in the manure in my boots and Khyle wouldn't help me out - so he pushed me forward - that helped - haha

Jaima and I planted our tomatoes last night and a few green bean plants. We have a container garden out front - and Memorial Day weekend we will plant the real garden out west of the house- carrots, radishes, beans, peas, broccoli - etc etc

The new front door - we have been using the garage door since last summer - haha- it's still not finished, but usable- I am not complaining because that's what got me a long wait in the first place - thanks, Bear!
Windy day, visiting the new building.

Khyle and Cody doing chores.

New cattle building - the waterer is in the foreground.

Almost done.
Don and Austa have postponed their visit - I forgot to mention that - they may come for Jaima's dance recital in May -
This weekend I will continue working on my kitchen. Had an inspiring and awesome visit with my friend Lynda today - we are both working on cleaning out our closets - which is also the title of our new Bible study we will be starting!
