The brightest moon of the year. Did you get to enjoy it? I did from 1:30am-3:30am. Stupid cows!

Spring Cleaning

I have been so busy the past three days - I started in the office. I was tired of the mess from the boys so I decided to claim it as my own! I cleared everything out - hosed it down HAHA - and cleaned it up.

I have also tackled the kitchen cupboards. I threw away 2- 55 gallon trash bags of JUNK! Jaima and I cleaned the living room and dining room together. Today we are resting. Tomorrow is the master bedroom. It is a mess! I have been thinking about STUFF. We all have too much and it has taken over our lives. We hang onto STUFF because we feel like we have to. "This was so-and-so's", "I spent a lot of money on this", "This might be worth something some day". After seeing all of the STUFF people have piled on the curbs after the flood I came to this conclusion: If your STUFF hasn't seen the light of day in over a year, if it's stuck in the basement, you've never used it, you're just hanging on to it and not enjoying it - THEN GET RID OF IT! Life is so much clearer, easier and less stressful without STUFF. Bless someone else with it. Throw away the junk. You will be able to breathe when you come home and not worry about how you will ever be able to clean up the clutter!

Miss Jaima - future Miss America!

8 months old!

Sweet Baby Jaiden! She already knows how to pose for pics just like her big sister! Yesterday she started pulling herself up on furniture in the living room!

My sweet baby...

This is a picture of Jaima when she was probably 2. I was browsing old pics and I love this one! She has changed - but yet stayed the same - she looks so much like my mom (does that mean I do, too?) and she still has that "What trouble can I get into next?" look in her eyes!
Jaima and Daddy went to Norby's this morning to get a halter for her calf "Cherry Dumpling". He's a dairy steer - I will take pictures this afternoon. He's about the size of a dog right now. She is bottle feeding him. She wants to show him in the Open Show at the fair. We told her she had to start out with a little one because she was trying to pick one of the show steers that she would show!

Waterloo flood sideshow

This link is to a slideshow Cody's aunt in Waterloo put together. There are also pictures of the evacuation - never thought I would see a traffic jam in my hometown!

Towns all around us are being evacuated. Clarksville, New Hartford, parts of Waverly. Across the highway from us the Cedar is up and friends are calling for help to move livestock.

John, Cody and Khyle are also on their way to Waverly to help Winers move things up from their basement. John and Cody already went to Plainfield to help fill sandbags.

It is so scary - fields are flooding - we pray for those who are feeling scared and hopeless - we pray for help to come and people to reach out to those in need.

Went garage sale-ing in Plainfield this morning. I forgot all about them until Dot called. Went to my usual stop to get all of Jaima's clothes for this summer and next school year - and also bought a toddler bed for Jaiden. She loves to lay in it! Jaima and I had a great time. The baby slept the whole time. There weren't many sales this year so we drove from house to house.

It is raining again tonight and we are under a tornado watch - better get off the computer - lightening!

Tomorrow is Youth Sunday at church. The youth helped me plan and write the whole service - we'll see how that goes!

Last day of school!

Thursday was Jaima's last day of kindergarten!

Another wedding vow amendment!

Through dead tomato plants killed by the wandering spray of your weed killer...

HAHA we'll add that to cows out at midnight, flooded basements, and all the rest!

Love conquers all!

Why am I blogging at 5:30am?

I am waiting for Cody to get dressed so I can take him to drivers ed! What a grown up mommy I am!!!!

We were up for most of the night anyways - lots of storm warnings - I took the kids to the basement - the wind was terrible. The funny thing is all I could think about what how the big bad wolf couldn't blow the brick house down! Thank you for our brick house!!!!

It is still very windy - our new John Deere grill cover got blown off the grill and our John Deere adirondack chairs got blown over - FUNNY

Off to town I go - I hope Jaiden wakes up her Daddy while I am gone...

Happy Birthday, Julie!

Today is Julie's 28th birthday - thank you God for bringing Gerben and Julie to America! I will go over and celebrate with her in awhile.

Right now Jaiden is taking a long nap. She went to school with me this morning to see Jaima and Cael. I read some books to the class, then we went outside for recess. Jaiden was tired and fell asleep in the car on the way home! She has not been wanting to nap lately so I am grateful for the little break!

We lowered her crib mattress, but this morning she pulled herself up again! I was surprised.

Today is Cody's last day of sophomore year. I am praying for him because he has his Algebra 2 final and I know he was studying so hard. Jaima's last day is tomorrow and then the fun begins!

Hillbilly Jammies!

We had to cut the feet off these pajamas because Jaiden kept sucking on them! She looks like a hillbilly in long johns!

Thursday is the last day of school! Yeah! I am so lonely for my children - does that make sense? I am just so excited about having them home all summer! We have so much planned. Cody starts drivers ed on Friday - that means having him to school by 6am everyday weekday in June! Any volunteers to drive him in? I figure it will be good for me. Maybe I can walk a few laps at the high school track? Not without my coffee first!

I almost forgot! John bought me a ring for our anniversary! Last Friday night we got food from Joe's and when I opened mine up there was a ring box - I love those white boxes from Tenenbaum's - it is a diamond anniversary band! I think I got it because he got a new skid loader! HAHA

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Today is my parent's 36th wedding anniversary! They are celebrating with a trip to Alaska. Last year it was Hawaii. If they go to Europe they are going to have to take me! They deserve to relax a little - it was not easy raising me! Love you Mommy and Daddy!

Jaiden's Milestones...

  • We had to lower the crib mattress because she can pull herself up!
  • She is crawling all over now. I am finding new things I have to "Jaiden-proof" everyday!
  • Says "Baba" for food!
  • Has four teeth with more coming in on the sides!
  • Yells a lot!
  • Loves to play with her brother and sister!
  • Can play peek-a-boo!

Me and RaeAnna K. on Confirmation Day. I was RaeAnna's mentor for the year and guided her on a path to discovering God, her relationship with Jesus and gave her advice (lots of it!)

We had a great year!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 6 year wedding anniversary! It rained on our wedding day - and it is raining today - a beautiful spring rain! Of course, the sun came out when I walked down the aisle! We got married right here on the farm.
